Listerine is a good mouthwash brand that can be used for many other useful purposes. These other uses for Listerine are possible because of the essential oils; menthol, eucalyptol, thymol and methyl salicylate. These ingredients present in Listerine create a great antiseptic, anti-fungal treatment and more. Below are some unique ways to use listerine mouthwash.


1. RUB IT UNDER YOUR ARMS

Listerine works great as an under arm deodorant. It acts as an astringent and antibacterial agent to reduce sweating and body odor. Fill Listerine mouthwash in a spray bottle and spray in your underarms to get rid of body odor. This is an easy way and just like using a deodorant. Another way of applying listerine is by using cotton ball or towel. Take a cotton ball or towel and soak it in listerine mouthwash and dab into your armpit.

2. DISINFECT TOOTHBRUSH

You can disinfect your toothbrush by using anti-bacterial like Listerine. Soaking the bristle side of toothbrush in listerine for 20 minutes after brushing is sufficient to eliminate microbial contamination. Use this method once a week to keep your toothbrushes away from bacteria.

3. GET RID OF ACNE & PIMPLES

Mouthwash contains a phenol-based antiseptic that will eliminate the bacteria that causes acne and pimples. Take the cotton ball and pour the listerine on them and gently dab it on the pimple or acne affected area. The ingredients found in Listerine(eucalyptus, alcohol, and thyme) dries out the pimple and fades it.

4. GET RID OF DANDRUFF

To use listerine as a dandruff treatment, wet your hair thoroughly with the mouthwash and wrap your hair in a towel. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then shampoo your hair as normal. Repeat this treatment for multiple times. The anti-fungal ingredients in listerine will eliminate the dandruff completely.

5. NAIL FUNGUS

Using Listerine mouthwash can be good remedy to treat toenail fungus. The mouthwash has several compounds that act as a strong antiseptic to keep away harmful bacteria and fungi. Fill a small tub with Listerine mouthwash, or a combination of equal parts of Listerine and white vinegar. Soak the affected feet and hands in this solution for about 10-15 minutes, and then scrub the infected toenail gently. Rinse it off and dry the affected area thoroughly. Repeat this treatment once or twice daily until the infection clears.

6. GLASS CLEANER

Listerine can make the glass sparkling clean. Clean your computer screen, television and camera lenses with Listerine and a soft cloth.

7. KITCHEN TRASH ODOR

Take a paper towel and soak it in Listerine and place it at the bottom of kitchen trash. This will help in getting rid of the odor.

8. CLEAN MOLD AND MILDEW



Listerine is great for cleaning mold and mildew in your home. Simply soak your cleaning tool in Listerine and scrub away. Not only will you have a clean house, but it will smell minty fresh.
